New Life, Tuolumne River
A group of young trees and shrubs stubbornly take root in a narrow gap on a large granite boulder, within the banks of the Tuolumne River's Dana Fork, as 2015's meager runoff passes downstream. With several years of low water, these plants have been able to take hold in a location where normal runoff would have washed them away.
